Conservation Laws (Traffic flow & more)
In this talk, we will consider conservation laws. Many interesting problems, such as traffic flow or gas dynamics, can be modeled with conservation laws. First, I will derive a general conservation law, and show how to model some examples with conservation laws. Then, when we try to show the existence of solutions of conservation laws, I will explain what makes the problem hard and show how to get over this difficulty. I believe that this talk will be understandable if you know the calculus. And, you will see many interesting examples as well.
Pizza and soda will be served for those attending!
