CSU Hayward's Interactive Remote Shared Access (IRSA) project is developing software to remotely operate visual and analytical scientific instruments. In conjunction with the staff of the Microscope And Graphics Imaging Center (MAGIC), Dr. Christopher Morgan and his students have created software to control a Philips XL40 Scanning Electron Microscope over the Internet.
