
The Alameda County Office of Education (ACOE) and the California State University, East Bay (CSUEB) have been awarded $1.4 million to implement NASA LIFT OFF. This new project will provide professional development opportunities for local high school science teachers that is focused on NASA missions and science content. Summer Academies for high school science teachers will be offered through the East Bay Science Project (a joint project of the ACOE and CSUEB.

The activities of the NASA LIFT OFF will focus on all four science content areas (Life Science, Chemistry, Physics and Earth Science) through the examination of NASA mission data. One of the products that teacher participants will produce is the Instructional Cases developed through collaboration with CSUEB science faculty, NASA scientists and ACOE education specialists.
