INSTITUTE FOR MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLNESS EDUCATION
AT CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY, HAYWARD
The Institute for Mental Health and Wellness Education at the California
State University, Hayward is committed to bringing people together with
diverse interests and backgrounds to tackle one of societies most pressing
problems -- mental illness and the tragic toll it takes on all of our lives.
Through the combined efforts of the Institute and our collaborators we hope
to shed light on the myths and mysteries of mental illness while providing
much needed information. It is our fervent hope to help facilitate a recovery
process in all mentally disabled individuals.
The Institute for Mental Health and Wellness Education (Institute) at
California State University, Hayward, was founded with the mission to make
education an essential community partner in addressing issues in the mental
health arena. The Institute carries out this mission through:
-
Mental health workforce development,
-
Supported education for those students on the CSUH campus living with
mental health issues, and
-
Public education to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health issues.
